Applying Early Decision to UVA has a distinct advantage. While the 2022-20 admissions cycle saw the university’s first Early Decision offering since 2006, the results spoke volumes.

As a result, if your SAT superscore is currently less than 1500, we strongly advise you to consider studying for the SAT and retaking it. You have a good chance of improving your score, which will increase your chances of admission significantly.

Because there are so many applicants with scores of 32 and higher, a 30 will appear academically weak.

ACT Score Sending Policy

If you take the ACT instead of the SAT, you have a significant advantage in how you send scores, which has a significant impact on your testing strategy.

Here it is: when you send ACT scores to colleges, you have absolute control over which tests you send. You could take 10 tests, and only send your highest one. This is unlike the SAT, where many schools require you to send all your tests ever taken.

This means you have more opportunities to improve your ACT score than you realize.
