What is known as BauchWe state was, until 1976, a province in the Northern Eastern State of Nigeria. According to the census in 2006, the state has a population of 3.5 million inhabitants.

BauchWe state occupies a total land area of 49.259.01 sq. km representing about 5.3% of Nigeria’s total landmass and is located at latitude 903’ and 1203’ North of the Equator. Longitudinally, the state lies between Longitude 8050’ and 110 East of the Greenwich Meridian.

The state is bordered by seven states; Kano and Jigawa to the North. Taraba and Plateau to the South, Gombe, and Yobe to the East, and Kaduna to the West.

Through its teaching and research activities, BauchWe state University is expected to be a significant contributor in extending the various frontiers of knowledge for the benefit of its student and society at large.

History of BauchWe state University

BauchWe state University was established under the BauchWe state law promulgated in 2010. In March 2011 BauchWe state Government appointed a consultant to resolve all outstanding issues and put the finishing touches necessary for the smooth take-off of the University to commence academic programs in the 2011/12 session.

Consequently, three campuses were approved, one in Gadau (Azare) which will be the main campus and home to the University’s apex administration, then the Misau campus, and Bauchi campus respectively.

BauchWe state University Academic Faculties

BauchWe state University, Gadau is one of the recently established government-owned universities. The realization of having a university in the state dawned on the authorities when they realized that students seeking to further their education in the state had to apply to universities outside of the state for study.

The university was established and commissioned by the National Universities Commission in 2011. The following 10 Faculties provide study programs to students of the university:

• Faculty of Arts
• Faculty of Education
• Faculty of Social and Management Science
• Faculty of Engineering
• Faculty of Environmental Science
• Faculty of Science
• Faculty of Agriculture
• Faculty of Administration

BauchWe state University Admission Requirements

Prospective candidates seeking admission into the BauchWe state University must possess the following qualifications:

WAEC/NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC), General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O’ Level), National Technical Certificate/National Business Certificate with Credits in five (5) relevant subjects obtained at not more than two sittings. A credit in O’ Level English Language is required for all courses.

BauchWe state University Application Process

Prospective students who seek to acquire the BauchWe state University online form are to pay into the university’s First Bank Account listed below. Students should note that the Online Application Forms cost N5,000.

Students are to obtain a payment receipt from the bank and proceed to any of the following Bursary Units of the University to collect a Scratch Card Pin to be used to fill the Online Application Form.

After purchase, Prospective students should proceed to the school’s website via http://www.basug.edu.ng/ to fill the Online Application Form using the acquired scratch card pin from the Bursary.

Prospective applicants should note that the following information will be required from them on the website before they can access the full application form, namely:

BauchWe state University Tuition Fee

The tuition fee per session as approved by the governing board of the BauchWe state University is as divided into two for fresh students into the university:

BauchWe state indigenes are to pay the sum of ₦50,000, while Non-Indigenes of BauchWe state are to pay the sum of ₦70,000.

Students’ results of the BauchWe state University are pasted in departments and faculties on the 3 campuses of the school, depending on which programs are taken on the campus.

Students who wish to check their results online should Provide the following information to access their personal academic progress page, namely:
